£120 per board or £335 for the collection

This series combines internet culture, with some of the world’s most highly influential people’s recent words.

The boards are covered in a vinyl print, and overlaid with a neon
style EL wire light.

Board 1 (Our World):
We start by looking at some statements and articles from Jair Bolsonaro, the president of Brazil, recently infamous for encouraging the burning of huge swathes of the Amazon rainforest. He is also known for his childish statements on climate change, such as claiming he thinks we should 'Poop every other day' to protect the environment. With such silly and ridiculous words coming out of his mouth, it feels like he should be in one of the viral videos of people coming out of anaesthetic, talking no sense and embarrassing themselves. So his words have been overlaid on screenshots of ‘David After Dentist’, and 'Kid wakes up after surgery thinking he's a gangster’.

Board 2 (Lives on):
Next are the moving and impressive words of Greta Thunberg, where she addresses world leaders with statements such as ‘We children are doing this to wake the adults up.’, and ‘We have not taken to the streets for you to take selfies with us, and tell us that you really admire what we do.’. Her powerful words have been combined here with #adulting memes, which highlight how embarrassing it is for world leaders to have to have a child explain to them how to do their jobs.

Board 3 (Without you):
Finally we have Donald Trump. In an unbelievable article, https://www.nytimes.com/interactive/2019/climate/trump-environment-rollbacks.html, we learn of the 85 (and counting), environmental rules being rolled back under Trump’s administration. Whilst being truly shocking, I found it almost amusing that the title of the article felt so reminiscent of the clickbait list - it may aswell have said ’85 rules you wouldn’t believe are being rolled back!’ and been on the Buzzfeed homepage. Which is why the article has been interrupted with some typical clickbait lists, highlighting the absolute ridiculousness of Trump’s actions.
